I am currently a fourth-year French and foreign affairs double major at the University of Virginia.

Experience

I tutor because I know how important it is to feel confident in class as a student. While in high school, I tutored less advanced students in French grammar, and volunteered at a local elementary school's "homework club" to answer questions about assignments and clarify on the day’s lessons. In past summers, I have volunteered at my church’s art and drama camp to teach children craft activities and to help them write and perform a play. Last summer I worked as a copy editor and junior translator at the translation agency JPD Systems, which gave me a real-life application of my language skills. I am currently a copy editor with the Wilson Journal, an undergraduate research publication at UVa, and a volunteer tour guide at UVa's Fralin art museum.

I've always enjoyed the arts, from exploring many dance disciplines, to reading books from all over the world, to giving tours as a docent at the University Art Museum. I like to learn something new every day, especially if it's not part of a class.
